(Warning: Typos Intact, Not Legal Advice)

My mom passed away and she received medicaid, me and my husband are both on her checking account as survivorship?

We closed her account and added the money to ours, and paid some of her bills. Also her mobile home that we purchased is in my name. Her vehicle quit working and she signed over title to my husband. He fixed it about 2 years after and sold it for 3000. Her life insurance policy states me her daughter as a beneficiary in 2016..I don’t know what to do. She doesn’t have any assets will this stuff go through probate

Answer: Probate is the process of transferring ownership of assets when the owner has died or become incapacitated. From what you’ve described, it sounds like all vehicles, life insurance policies, and accounts have designated beneficiaries. While I typically do not recommend relying solely on beneficiary designations to avoid probate, it appears that in this case, it has worked as intended.

In other words, because you did not use traditional methods such as wills or trusts, everything has been resolved without the need for probate. Essentially, you “got away with it” because there are no assets left to go through the probate process.
