Should we meet with APS with or without legal representation regarding financial exploitation of my wife’s mother?

We met with APS, and we were asked to provide explanations and definitions for a handful a check in withdrawals on behalf of my deceased mother. My wife was designated POA, but did not tell her mother how to spend her monthly income. She had monthly payments due. The assisted-living facility fell behind. Statements were variable and inconsistent as they climbed. While waiting for Medicaid to kick in, however, denied three or four times throughout this process

Answer: You will need to meet with Adult Protective Services. However, given the facts as you’ve described them, I recommend consulting with your own legal counsel first to fully understand the situation. This way, you can provide accurate and consistent answers to their questions.
